What Happens When It Rains

When the Boyfriend and I bought our very large house we knew that the reason we were getting it for such a steal was because of the flooding issues. I also have to say that, so far, we've really lucked out; our basement has not yet become the indoor pool that we were expecting.

But the floats are waiting, oh, they're waiting.

And hell, in the event that our basement DOES turn into a swim zone, I'm going to go out and buy some of those little umbrellas for the cocktails that I will create just for the occasion... and you will all be invited.

We had a close call this weekend, but the power stayed on and we trooped through it. This is what we woke up to on Saturday morning:

See that tree that is bending dangerously to the right? That is where the creek line is. That is is the line you normally have to walk to just to see the water.

See that lake to the right? That's normally a grassy field. I'm thinking... lakeside property, baby!

But these branches? Now THAT is just a nuisance.
